The ALL NEW "Hot Rod Logo" shot at top of this web page was created from a photo I took at Moroso Motorsports Park 2006 Hot Rod Sunday. The blue background was the actual clear blue sky that day... palm tree and beach were added.
If you double click the logo, it will change to an alternate night shot (after page fully loads). Just having a little fun figuring out new tricks with Photoshop!

WEEKEND UPDATEby: DJ Scott
Fri. Mar 12, 2010: Towershoppes was cancelled due to a massive weather front coming through... which brought us a perfect weather weekend.
Sat. Mar 13: As I've already written, it was a beautiful day and I had the day off, so Dee & I hopped on the bike and took a nice ride up thru the Palm Beaches to see the Bounty while it is docked in South Florida. See my photo taken from water taxi on our way over, or click photo right.
Saturday night: I got home late at 5:15pm... hopped immediately from one vehicle to the next, and was setting up for the Miami Lakes Cruise Night by 6pm (I often live on a tight schedule). We had an incredible turnout with somewhere between 150-200 cars! It was a happening evening, brought to you by Cultural Affairs and Jumpin Jack Productions.
Sun. Mar 14: Sunday morning I'm back on the highways again heading to South Miami for the 24th Annual Sunshine ALL Corvette Spring Meet. It was a beautiful day... this show brought in 'vettes from all over South & West Florida. They had some excellent food cooking on the BBQ! It was a good show... proudly sponsored and held at Kendall Chevrolet in Miami.
Sunday night: (as soon as I got home) we hopped back on the bike and headed over to Tijuana Taxi for a nice night of fun and fellowship. As you have already read, it was a record breaking night with 94 cars! Hats off to Rich and his crew (Bob & Arlyne) for a great place to cruise at the end of a long weekend!
Saturday Mar 20: Jumpin Jack will be in Miami for the ULTIMATE 60's Rock & Roll Reunion Car Show. This show will feature rock and roll bands of the era, and is being spot-lighted on Magic 102.7 radio.
Enjoy car show season! Here is the full list of upcoming Events!
Take care... see you at the shows... -DJ Scott

Mar 13: DJ Dee & I went riding Saturday! We hopped on the '03 Fatboy and took a nice beach ride up A1A from Ft. Lauderdale as far as it goes into Palm Beach. While there, we took a water taxi over to Peanut Island for a cool tour of the pirate ship H-M-S Bounty while it is docked here in South Florida. We enjoyed ourselves at the tiki-bar on the harbor where we listened to live entertainment & had drinks and lunch. We had BEAUTIFUL weather... and a GREAT ride!
Sat. Mar 6, 2010: It was a PERFECT and beautiful weekend for car shows!!! Saturday it was the Citi Centre Classic Car Show in Pompano with a very nice show in the courtyards of the mall. This is a nice venue for a show, with plenty of stores, restaurants, and lots of admiring spectators! The show brought to you by Pep Boys & Russ G Events.
Sun, Mar 7, 2010: Sunday we enjoyed another PERFECT south Florida weather day... and the Mopars came out in force for the "22nd Annual Florida Mopar Nationals" at University Dodge in Davie! This show ALWAYS brings out some rare and amazing cars, and brings them in from all over Florida too! There were vendors, the Moose cooking up BBQ, a swap meet, model car show, and more! I enjoy this venue too, as I get to crank up some great classic rock from the 60's, 70's, and 80's! Racing legend Darrel Gwynn was also on hand enjoying the show with us... as this show raises money to benefit the Darrell Gwynn Foundation. It was a GREAT day with friends! This show is proudly brought to you by the "Florida Mopar Connection Car Club". A nice job by all the club members and volunteers!
There were other numerous shows Sunday in South Florida, including the 31st Annual Our Town America in Coral Springs... and others in Miami & Palm Beach too. There were NO car show citations for "wrong color" trash cans!
Sunday night, after a long weekend, DJ Dee and I hopped on the Harley and headed up to Tijuana Taxi where we enjoyed dinner and drinks with friends and a nice turnout of cars for the weekend finale.
Next weekend we'll be in Miami Lakes across from Main Street for a FREE show on Saturday night with Jumpin Jack, and Sunday we'll be in Miami again, with the Sunshine Corvette Club for their "24th Annual ALL CORVETTE Spring Meet". The "Shades of Past Spring Rod Run" will also be from
11am-4pm in Pompano, with a beach cruise too!
UPDATE: I have been working on the new CruisinSouthFlorida logo... try double clicking just for fun... (webpage must be fully loaded first) Would you believe the current hotrod shot was taken in front of the Moroso bathroom!
Hooters Girls! Spring Tree Plaza Benefit Car Show!
WEEKEND UPDATEby: DJ Scott
Feb 27, 2010: Something "stinks" in Sunrise! Saturday Russ G Events had a benefit car show for the "Spring Tree Plaza Charities" in Sunrise. From what I understand, that despite the fact that proper permits were pulled, and the show was located on private property, code enforcement was somehow alerted and a citation was issued for having the "wrong color" garbage cans in the show! These were merely used to collect trash for the dumpster. The trash can services were also donated,
There's more... but I'll leave it at that. You people that want more government in your lives are out of your minds!
Feb 28, 2010: Sunday we had a great car show at Lefty's in Davie. The weather was sunny and beautiful all day... there were plenty of show cars and spectators, and the food and service was very good too. This semi-annual event brought to you by Jumpin Jack Productions.
The Harleys & Hotrods Cruise Night is postponed this month due to "Bike Week" in Daytona, and bikes being a big part of this show. It will resume the 1st Tuesday in April.
Fri Feb 12: Rained out at Towershoppes again! That's 2 weeks in a row... we saw this one coming in big on the radar!
Sat Feb 13: We had an EXCELLENT first show at the "Diamond Strike Hot Rod & Bowl Car Show" in Pompano. The weather started out cool, but improved greatly with lots of sunshine! The lot was packed full of quality cars... the music, food, and beers rolled steady throughout the day! Howie and the staff did a nice job for their first event... look forward to seeing this one again!
Sat Night: It started out to be a beautiful evening with sunny clear skies at the "Ocean's Eleven' Cruise Night". There was a good turnout of cars with the lot almost full... but as the sun went down so did the temperatures! The wind picked up too, and when the temps got in the lower 50's... most of the folks pulled out. At 50 degrees, with only a couple cars left.. the show ended early. Thanks to those who hung with us in the cold for as long as they could!
Sun Feb 14: When I got up and checked the weather, it was only 43 degrees out. But just as quickly as the temps had dropped from the night before, the temps rose with lots of sunshine for our "Daisy Dukes Valentines Car & Truck Show" in Pembroke Pines. Over 100 awesome show vehicles were on display for a nice day with great weather, lots of spectators, music, raffles, food, and friendship with fellow car enthusiasts. Jim Park and Bill Barlow did a nice comedy performance with their "Who's on First" Abbott & Costello tribute. Awards were handed out at the end of the day... it was a great show! Nice job by Jumpin Jack and the crew!
Another show going on today was the Gold Coast British car show in Boca. They had a very nice show too. "DJ Dee" provided the "British Invasion" music throughout the say which really added the atmosphere to that nice show!
Sun Night: After a very looong weekend, Diane & I hopped on the Harley and headed up to "Tijuana Taxi Sunday Night Cruise" in Coral Springs for a relaxing weekend wrap-up and dinner. There was a moderate crowd and cars there, where we enjoyed Valentine's... and a slow dance for our anniversary there. As some of you learned, DJ Dee & I were married on Valentine's Day back 9 years ago. She and I both worked on our special day today, and will take a few days off for a getaway shortly. It was a "cool" 54 degree ride home.
We battled some cold weather and rain this past weekend, and enjoyed some nice sunny shows too!
I will be posting photos shortly... Here is the full list of upcoming Events!
